We do not require a retainer. Fortunately, when the Pandemic hit us in March 2020, we had already been a paperless office for many years with two cloud based case management systems. However, the Pandemic propelled us to make many improvements to our client service protocols, retainer requirements, direct calendaring, electronic exchanges and remote systems being some examples. This has allowed our firm to concentrate more on client service and less on wasteful antiquated management systems. If you entrust us with your family law matter, you'll be in excellent hands.

Deputy Arrested After Alleged Home Break-In

A Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested Monday for allegedly breaking into his estranged wife’s home in Tuolumne County, according to local law enforcement. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. near Italian Bar Road and Columbia Springs Lane. The woman contacted deputies after noticing her estranged husband, 54-year-old Curtis Ray Hankins Sr., attempting to enter her home unannounced. She explained that Hankins had not lived at the residence for several months and arrived claiming he intended to move back in due to financial difficulties related to ongoing divorce proceedings. Situations like these underscore the importance of having our knowledgeable Stanislaus County, CA family lawyer to guide individuals through civil and domestic disputes.

Deputies learned that Hankins had unlocked the door by reaching through a dog door. Once he gained entry, the woman left for a neighbor’s home and initiated a citizen’s arrest, which deputies later confirmed. Law enforcement verified that the property was jointly owned by both parties and was currently involved in civil proceedings regarding ownership and possession. Hankins was booked at Dambacher Detention Center, and his gun and law enforcement vehicle were secured by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.

This event highlights the challenges that can arise during divorce proceedings, particularly when one party attempts unauthorized entry or asserts possession without proper legal authority.
