We do not require a retainer. Fortunately, when the Pandemic hit us in March 2020, we had already been a paperless office for many years with two cloud based case management systems. However, the Pandemic propelled us to make many improvements to our client service protocols, retainer requirements, direct calendaring, electronic exchanges and remote systems being some examples. This has allowed our firm to concentrate more on client service and less on wasteful antiquated management systems. If you entrust us with your family law matter, you'll be in excellent hands.

Yeah. Hi, this is attorney Bernie again. Well, what happens when your ex or soon to be ex refuses to negotiate? The law states that you have to meet and confer if she doesn’t have an attorney. The law still states that she needs to cooperate. Not only that, but you can ask the court to set a settlement conference. In some counties, like in Alama County, you can get one for a whole day. The expectation is that parties have to try to come up with an agreement. If they can’t, well, then the

court will make an a decision regardless of what their positions are. And sometimes it’s better to get an agreement because then at least you control the outcome.
