We do not require a retainer. Fortunately, when the Pandemic hit us in March 2020, we had already been a paperless office for many years with two cloud based case management systems. However, the Pandemic propelled us to make many improvements to our client service protocols, retainer requirements, direct calendaring, electronic exchanges and remote systems being some examples. This has allowed our firm to concentrate more on client service and less on wasteful antiquated management systems. If you entrust us with your family law matter, you'll be in excellent hands.

When It's Over,
It's time to move on

Castro Valley, CA Family Lawyer

Whether you’re navigating a decision to divorce or you are unmarried and you and your child’s other parent are going your separate ways, it’s time to consult a skilled Castro Valley, CA family lawyer at Attorney Bernie about your legal needs. Although the stresses of a family split are generally so intense that the idea of connecting with a lawyer can seem overwhelming, the more proactive you are now, the more likely you’ll be to achieve a favorable outcome as efficiently as possible.

Family Lawyer Castro Valley, CA

There are three primary reasons why individuals seek the guidance of any skilled Castro Valley family lawyer: Divorce, child custody matters, and/or child support concerns. Although these areas of family law are certainly not the only reasons to seek out an attorney’s support, they are the foundation of most family law practices. Being proactive when it comes to these matters – and virtually any other challenges that are managed by the family courts – being as proactive as possible is critically important because the stakes of a family’s situation are so high.

Resisting The Urge To DIY Your Family Law Matter

Understandably, many people are initially tempted to “DIY” their divorce, custody, and/or support challenges either because they want to save money or because they don’t have enough of it on hand and they’re concerned that they can’t afford professional legal support. Yet, while a “do-it-yourself” ethic is admirable, these areas of law are so complex, nuanced, and sensitive in nature that allowing an attorney to act on your behalf is almost always likely to result in a superior outcome. And because the outcome of a family legal matter affects one’s personal finances, parental rights, or both, investing in the most favorable outcome possible can ultimately result in consequences that may last for a lifetime, and possibly for the lifetimes of more than one generation.

Contentious Vs. Collaborative Approaches

Once the team at Attorney Bernie is alerted to your situation, we can help you make informed decisions about your situation. For some, a contentious approach is appropriate because the other party involved in their situation is abusive, incapable of working towards a fair solution, uninterested in collaborating, or otherwise is not in a position to pursue a collaborative process.

But, for those who can avoid litigating a family law matter, collaborative approaches offer a cost-efficient, lower-stress alternative to resolving disagreements and concerns. Rather than handing your situation to a judge and risking an unfavorable outcome, you can maintain greater control over your circumstances.

It’s important to understand that whether your situation is likely to be contentious or collaborative, our firm is available to advocate in focused and determined ways on behalf of your best interests.

Legal Assistance Is Available

Regardless of what the nature of your family law situation may be, you deserve to understand your rights and options under the law and to have a skilled advocate working on your behalf. Connect with our firm’s respected Castro Valley family lawyer to learn more about how we can help. We look forward to speaking with you.

He does not want you wasting your money on something a judge won't ultimately approve in court. In my experience, his team has tried to save me money where they could.
